The Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia (RGA)The RGA is the peak body for the Australian Rice Industry, representing and advocating for the interests of 1000 voluntary rice grower members.The RGA's main objective is to provide members with strong and effective representation on issues affecting the viability of their businesses, their communities and their industry. In addition, the RGA is responsible for delivering projects and communications to growers that seek to enhance their business, industry and communities.

18 May 2021 - COMMUNICATIONS AND MEMBERSHIP OFFICER - FULL TIME

The Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia (RGA) seeks the services of a Communications and Membership Officer to work in their office in Leeton, NSW.
An opportunity exists for a motivated self-starter to take on the challenge of delivering communication, media and membership services to the organisation and its members. The role will work closely with the Executive Director and Policy Manager to support their functions. The position will be an essential part of our strong and committed team in Leeton and Deniliquin.

The successful applicant will have an ability to:

  • a high level of written and oral communication skills.
  • ability to liaise with media and event planning.
  • ability to develop and maintain media, stakeholder and sponsor relationships.
  • strong understanding of effective use of social media.
  • “C” class motor vehicle licence 

Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Government Relations or a related discipline and/or relevant experience will be highly regarded.

3rd May 2021 - POLICY MANAGER - NINE MONTH MATERNITY LEAVE CONTRACT - Applications closed Sunday 16 May 2021

The Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia (RGA) is seeking a motivated and dynamic Water Policy Manager to fill a nine (9) month maternity leave contract.

This is a part-time position (four days per week negotiable) based in either the RGA’s Leeton or Deniliquin offices, NSW, or with the option to work remotely for suitable candidates, and reporting to the RGA’s Executive Director.

The Position: Policy Manager  responsible for leading the RGA's policy development and advocacy functions with respect to water policy, and for educating members on matters relevant to water policy. It is a fast paced and dynamic role as part of a small and friendly team.

The successful applicant will have an ability to:

  • comprehend complex policy issues,
  • develop and implement effective advocacy strategies,
  • exercise sound judgement,
  • communicate and negotiate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, and
  • understand the needs and expectations of the RGA membership.

Tertiary qualifications and experience in agri-politics, agri-business, commerce, law, economics or similar disciplines will be highly regarded.

Travel and after business hours attendance at meetings and events is required.
